The First step to creating a child's bedroom is to
pick a theme. Choose a focal point that the rest of the room compliments. You
should make it imaginative and quirky; have fun with it, you will be changing
the theme of the room in a few years down the line.
Here I choose the focal point of the room to be this
adorable sailboat wallcovering. It sets the mood for the room and everything that
will follow. In this case a nautical theme, perfect for two boys around the ages of 4 to 8.

Then comes the really fun part, Textiles! Window coverings, Bedding, pillows, rugs, and so on. I went with a striped Clarke & Clark fabric for the Valance. And for the bedding a Chevron comforter with matching sailboat sheets to match the wallpaper.

And for the cherry on top....accessorise! Throw some fun decorative pillows on the bed or chair, add some rustic storage cubbies for toys and a classic Triton mirror. Voila!
